To all my wonderful clients!

Christmas is coming! Can’t believe it’s already here. Where did the year go? We are all starting to think of what to give this holiday season, and who doesn’t love a massage? Whether you are stressed, hurting, or just need a time out, or know someone who does, a gift certificate for a massage is a perfect gift.

Since this is the season of giving, I would like to offer to all my clients $10 off a 60 minute massage. That is an unbeatable deal that I promise you won’t find anywhere else. This offer is only good through December 23rd, so give me a call and schedule soon!

I can’t wait to see you all and help you feel wonderful!

Merry Christmas,

Latissa Graham, L.M.T

11 benefits of massage I bet you didn't know

I thought I would write about the benefits of receiving bodywork; although there are so many that I will probably forget some. Massage therapy is a great preventative health practice. If you only come see me when you are in pain, then it takes a lot longer and a lot more sessions close together to fix your problem then if you were to come see me every couple weeks and maintain your health.

1. It feels good, or rather, you feel so much better afterwards!
2. It has been shown to decrease anxiety and depression, and elevates endorphin levels, which are your body's natural pain killers.
3. It increases blood and lymph flow, which helps flush out waste and increases immunity and prevents edema or swelling.
4. It relieves tension and trigger points, or what some people refer to as "knots"
5. It can improve performance in sports, and help you heal faster after an injury or strain.
6. It can help you heal faster after surgery, decreasing the appearance of a scar, and regaining normal use of muscles and tissue.
7. It can restore a normal structure of the body where there is a deformity. i.e. scholiosis, dowagers hump, etc.
8.It can increase your energy.
9. It can improve muscle tone in people that are inactive and there is atrophy of the muscles. i.e. parapalegics, limb in a cast, etc.
10. It increases greater joint flexibility and range of motion.
11. Massage relieves mental and physical stress and fatigue, which will make us overall, healthier!!

There are so many, many more benefits, particularly emotional benefits that are different for every individual. I have seen it work wonders in many peoples lives, and especially in mine! Hope this opens up new ways you never knew massage could help you with!

Why I believe in Massage Therapy

I decided to become a massage therapist after being married for 1 year. I knew I wanted to be able to work from home so that I could stay home with my future children, and I knew I always enjoyed giving "massages" to people, and they always said I should become a Massage therapist, so I looked into it. I went to the school and knew instantly that this was the right path for me. I talked to my husband, and we both agreed that I should do it, although signing $12,000 away sure was a lot to swallow. I knew I was going to love it, and that I would work as hard as I could to get the best grades and experiences possible. I wanted to be excellent.

I started school and fell in love. I fell in love with the art of touch. I fell in love with the human anatomy; how our muscles respond to everything we do, how we hold our emotions in our muscles, how manipulating the tissue can literally fix diseases and release so much more then just tension. I saw and felt my body change. I let go of so many things I had been holding on to. My anxiety decreased. My depression decreased. I felt better; stronger. And more importantly, I felt a power. A healing power that I was able to give. I helped people in real pain. I was able to "fix" their pain. And it was truly amazing. I was actually able to see the results, and I couldn't believe that I had ever lived without massage therapy in my life. I kept thinking, "Why don't more people know about this?" And I knew I was on a mission. A mission to bring the Healing Power of Touch to everyone, because EVERYONE needs it!

Since graduation, I have been able to work on many different bodies, and see so many changes; physically, emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually. I absolutely LOVE what I do. I am starting this blog to help people see how many wonderful benefits there are in receiving bodywork, and to share my experiences. I hope you learn something new, and come experience the Healing Power of Touch.
